Cinnamon Rolls to Die For…

Last week, we were working from our fort office & right next to the same is a quaint eatery called Lalit Refreshments which serves fabulous value for money food. We ordered some awesome rotis, paneer in a red gravy, papads, pickle and dosas from there for lunch! As you can see in the picture, the food was pretty damn awesome!!! The next day was a holiday, as it was the start of the Ganpati festival. For the same, Rachita baked an awesome cheesecake with cinnamon dusting on it…. matlab post eating that we are totally clear about our patisserie business ūüôā The next day we decided to make Cinnamon rolls. Please note I was there helping¬†Rachita a.k.a.¬†The Food Magician in making this¬†piece¬†of awesomeness; for a 1st attempt, the rolls were delicious & we made a lot of them & kept aside and ate them regularly till end of the week. For dinner that night, was Samosa Chaat which was courtesy my very lovely mother; needless to say it was totally killer… In this whole thing, I forgot to mention that the Bike Rides were also happening regularly considering the weather has been super awesome,¬†I mean no rains. How awesome is that!

My Prized Possession!!!

Hand Tossed Home Made Pizzas!!!

Then came the weekend & full-on party mode was in progress as Ekta was back from Baroda so Beers, Rum, etc. flowed like the Nile… In the morning, Rachita & me had made preparations for hand tossed Pizzas. Do check the pictures in the gallery below. Also then there was some super sensational chocolate cake with yellow butter icing which was in the shape of modak (ladoos) ha ha ha ha! Our tribute to Ganpati ūüôā Next day post morning bike ride & general chilling, Rachita & I decided to go¬†& check some speakers at¬†Phoneix Mills. Visited JBL, Croma & also Bose, the¬†experience¬†at the Bose showroom was the best! They showcased ¬†a demo of the crazy Video Wave¬†Experience¬†which was the greatest sound¬†experience¬†of a television ever!!! If you guys are around a Bose showroom, do walk in and check out the demo its sensational.

You have to taste it to believe it…

Delicious!!!

Droooooooooooooooollllllllll!!!

Post the retail therapy session, we decided to go to Cafe Zoe as we had never been there with Analushka / Anus who’s picture is also featured in the slide show below. The place has a nice¬†decor – is very spacious. Post being seated, we checked the menu. Immediately I ordered the steak burger which was extremely inviting also added some bacon to it, Rachita ordered a basket of breads, fries and also some¬†vegetables with red and white quinoa, also ordered some Hoegaarden. Post a leisurely lunch and a gossip session, we decided to head home and crash for a bit. In the evening, I decided to go out for the bike ride. While riding, figured it’s¬†Gauri day which is part of the Ganpati festival where in a statues of the¬†Goddess¬†Gauri are also bought home &¬†immersed¬†in to the water in a day’s time. There was crazy traffic across the roads but on the bike it was totally a breeze, en-route also visited the in-laws house which¬†I was stalking through the day as it was my random activity of the day (stalking the in-laws building). Ekta rode the bike home with me after the in-laws meet & greet. For dinner there was some crazy super awesome Enchiladas. You have to check the pictures of the same in the slide show. All in all, we been eating awesomeness and just thought the same needed to be posted on the blog. Hope you have had fun reading this post as much as we have had eating the food ūüôā Don’t miss the Slide show below it has some delicious & yummy pictures!!!

General Chilling Weekend

So there has been no update basis the weekend. This weekend’shappenings and the delay is totally because we had the NBA Playoffs happeningand also that post went up on priority. Having said that, the weekend was totallyawesome and spent with friends and family. The details for the same are mentioned Рdo have a read as they not only include bike rides, drinking and coolstuff, but also some awesome burritos & cheesecake happenings!

Nariman Point

King Fisher Ultra Time!!!

Awesome Beer Glass!!!

Started off on Friday, more or less planning Friday, as there were friends going to be over and the evening was planned around alcohol and general chilling. Saturday started off with a bike ride past Nariman Point, through Marine Drive also went in & around kemps corner, peddar road and mahalakshmi.Got home and finished the mundane chores and then spent the better half of the day with Rachita ordering food, alcohol & other things required for the party . Please note, Ritika, Suneel, Vishal & Ekta were going to be over forthe party. The best part of living in India is that everything is only a call away; called relevant stores, got veggies delivered home, got bloody mary mixes, philedelphia cheese, nacho chips and all delivered home! Didn‚Äôt need to move a muscle! Vishal was kind enough to order the magic box of beers which had 18 Kingfisher Ultras & about 6 Budweisers as Suneel drinks only Bud! Post watching Supernatural & Vampire Diaries Season 3 & a quick nap, 4 was the time by which everyone decided to come over and the party began!!! Started off drinking beers and trying to make sheesha with some bad flavours as the flavours in stock were exhausted… Ritika madesome decently bad sheesha which we had and then moved on to drinking more beers.

Cheese Cake!!!

World Best Nachos!

Post that, got ravenously hungry so Rachita was kind enoughto make us some awesome Tortilla Chips with Cheese Sauce (Nachos)! We got some ready made corn chips from a company called Cornitos and made some cheese sauce at home – killer combination people! You can try the same at your end with Doritos or any other local corn chips available. Also during the beer and sheesha session, Rachita was preparing an awesome cheesecake (check the pictures for the same above). Also dinner was being managed by her which was super bean burritos… Dinner was done which was absolutely sensational & delicious & post that camethe super dessert session which was unreal!!! Then all of us were zoning and decided to call it a night as we were decently high… Sunday morning started with cleaning the bike and sorting the bike cover, etc. as the rains arearound the corner. Decided to watch some D-grade movie called Hate Story which was pleasantly decent, post which most of the day was spent watching Supernatural season 4 which we finished where in Lucifer was being resurrected! Totally awesome, guys! Must watch! Can‚Äôt wait to get my hands on season 5.

Sensational Burritos!

Also, as mentioned, started Vampire Diaries season 3 which did turn out to be very interesting. Finally dinner was spent in true gujju style eating Khakhra Sandwich. Khakhra Sandwich is basically made using Roti‚Äôs whichare made crisp post double roasting like tortillas and then regular sandwich filling is put between 2 roti‚Äôs to make an ultimate khakhra sandwich! Finally, to close an awesome & well rested weekend, Rachita & I watched JohnCarter, which according to us was pretty damn good and closed the weekend…

First Bike Date & More on the Weekend Chronicles

Most of Friday was spent doing some crazy documentation at work. So come evening, I picked up a few beers & started planning the weekend! Saturday was Rachita’s (my wife) birthday so¬†the plan was¬†¬†around her & Sunday was going to be basic chores – Astro’s, our little baby cocker spaniel’s, bath,¬†family lunch, visit to the chopshop¬†& general lazing. So now the POA was crystallized.

View on our Bike Date!

Saturday morning kick-started at 6:00am with Rachita & my first bike ride date in 15 years! Yup never had we ever gone on a bike double-seat. We rode past Worli Seaface to Nariman Point & back; she was a bit nervous from time to time basis her apprehension about riding bikes, though, after a bit things were better. We felt a bit like college kids, we also tried to sit like they do in the movies where in the girl holds the guy from behind, though Ra said it was uncomfortable considering the same was straining her back. All in all, we had fun & the day had started off on a great note!

Happy Birthday Flowers

More Happy Birthday Flowers!

Post bike ride, we got home, took the car & Mihir (my twin brother) & left for Dadar flower market to pick-up flowers for the Mrs. Mihir wanted to do some photography so he came along, though once we reached there, cops patrolling the streets didn’t allow him to click pictures and asked him if he had permission to click the same…..WTF is that? Anyways, he snuck in a few shots! We bought some awesome tulips & liliams & got back home. Post arranging flowers & finishing a shower, etc. we left to pick up a watch for the Birthday girl which Mihir was going to gift to her. We picked up a nice one from SOBO Central Mall; then went to Mainland China for lunch & came home for some nap time.

Evening was spent making some awesome red velvet cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting & some Spinach and Cottage cheese bake for the evening party with the families. Party celebrations went on in full swing & too much fun became!

Byculla Bridge is Awesome!!!

Sunday morning, as always, started of with a brilliant bike ride past byculla bridge, lower parel flyovers. I then spent the morning with Astro Рhis oil massage, bath, brewed some beer (will write a post on that shortly) then watched Supernatural & started Spartacus 3 which was toally brilliant. Post which, I left for the Chopshop with Mihir to get some work done on the bike & get new customized seats. It took about 3 hours to get the seat customized, though was totally worth it. I also got some investigation done around getting a silencer which will give the bike a dual exhaust. Also found out details for the eagle bike which Jayeshbhai at the chopshop was trying to sell to us. Got home, had awesome dinner, watched Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol which was toally entertaining, had some amazing red velvet cake which was left over & then passed out.

Getting Seat Cover Customized...

Woke up to the same thought as the last 2 weeks¬†I miss the weekend & i hate Mondays.¬†This time though, there is much to look forward to as next Monday I have put in a leave and Tuesday is a Holiday! Now planning the extended 4 day weekend with the gang…

Seat has been Customized...

This One’s Smokin

If you remember the post on Monday “Chronicles of the Weekend” it briefly spoke about Smoke House Deli, Today we at Badbikegang are writing about our experiences at this eatery as it happens to be our current favorite -We have already visited this place about 6 times in 3 weeks with friends & family ūüôā

Smoke House Deli

SHD is located at Phoneix Mills. As soon as we  entered the place our immediate attention went to the decor as the restaurant is completely white with sketching on the  walls, also once you go beyond the reservation desk on your left there is this amazing display gallery unit storing Wines, Beers, Coldcuts, Fish, Packaged foods and sensational desserts!!!

The Embarrassing Glass of Water...

To your right is an open kitchen where chefs are hard at work. chopping veggies, plating food etc. Seating is across tables with chairs and if you pick the tables against the wall there are sofas as well. We picked the one with the sofa, post sitting comfortably we were greeted by  a polite waiter who asked us regular water or mineral. (Who in their sane mind goes for mineral water! The cost is out of whack) we went for regular. Basis the request we were given water in glasses where in I saw some dirt floating in the glass, Immediately the waiter was called and asked WTF at which point the waiter told us that the water was gently flavored with fresh orange &  mint and thus particles of the same were floating in the glass. Ok the embarrassing moment for the day had happened! We looked at each other and laughed hysterically.

Brilliant Bacon!!!

Menu was then given which more or less comprised of Soups, Egg Preps, Pancakes, Bacon, Sausages etc on the breakfast page, main course page consisted of Steak, Lamb, Chicken, Potato preparations. Forgot to add there was also a drinks menu given though post evaluating prices we ordered a couple of Budweisers which were the cheapest. All in all the variety of wines, cocktails & beers is insane but steep.

Some Vanilla Pancakes, Peri Peri Chicken, Steak, Chilli Dog, Chicken Burger, Bacon & more was the order, the staff was well trained and assisted in helping us with the order & recommendations. The order was served in about 10 minutes while we sipped on the pint & some mocktails which were ordered.

The food as you can see in the pictures was well plated and more importanlty spectacular, each dish seemed to be put together well with balanced and flavorful tastes. Special mention here to the Bacon which was¬†unbelievable. Bikes, Bikers, Babes, Bacon & Bucks rule!!! You know the food is good when there is pin drop silence on the table and all you hear is¬†cutlery,¬†¬†the silence is broken only when you hear things like “you have to try this it’s brilliant, oh this ones even better” etc

Wow Pancakes!!!

Finally some plum flavored philedelphia cheese cake was ordered the same was unbelievable!!! It melted as soon as it touched the tongue. Finally paid the bill & left with the promise of returning. If you are in the vicinity this place is a must visit.

Our Rating РPlease note this is basis Km 10 to 100 (10 being the lowest & 100 being the highest)

Ambience – 82km

Service – 88km

Food – 92km

Burn – 80km (This place is not cheap)
