2 Days of Partying

Since 2 days we have had a house to ourselves…. reason for the same….. the in-laws are travelling & thus the house is empty. The same indicates that for the next 3 days we were going to be partying there without anyone around, kinda like school or college where in you wait for the opportunity to have the house to yourself when parents aren’t home & party like there is no tomorrow ūüôā

Random Pic During Bike Ride

So the 1st day, due to excessive work, we could not capitalize on it as we got done late from work, post which a severe headache made my life hell. Day 2 (which also happened to be a Holiday due to Dassera, a Hindu Festival) was going to be a make up day basis the same. I woke up, went for a bike ride which was awesome, as the¬†early morning breeze was spectacular. Also after a while, I rode past Siddhivinayak Temple at Prabhadevi, went all the way till Shivaji Park & back….. absolutely amazing the experiance was! If the breeze is an indication of the winter, mid Novemeber through till end of February is going to be¬†awesome¬†fun, specially for bike rides. Got home, decided to play some NBA2k13 on the Xbox360 which, according to Mihir & me, is the finest¬†basketball¬†game ever!!! Played with Chicago Bulls & Derrick Rose, awesome fun way to start the day!

Yummmmyyyyy!!!

Post that, crashed & passed out for about a good 4 hours, woke up to an awesome lunch at home which was a full-on punjabi cuisine spread & included fried papads… Confession time, I love fried papads, I can like just keep eating them without stopping. Through the afternoon, decided to go to the in-laws house for some general chilling & to make up for lost time the night before. Chilled over there with Vishal, Ekta & Ra. After ages, did lots of Sheesha also had loads Beer, current favorite in local beers is Miller! Evening was spent eating Dosas for Dinner & a Telegu Horror movie on cable…

The Only way to Drink!!!

Awesomeness!!!

Day 3 began with work as usual, though the POA was to have this major Non-Veg feast at the in laws. For lunch, we ordered food from The Bombay Kitchen which was brilliant: the Chilli Dog, Rice with Indonesian Gravy, Stuffed Chicken & Tenderloine was amazing! Come evening, we all were there РMihir, Yooti, Vishal, Ekta & Rachita. On the menu, which was totally being managed & cooked by Rachita, there was Salad with Chorizo & and an Orange Reduction dressing, creamed Spinach & Mushroom, Masala Sausages, Chicken Sorpotel & Rice (Do check the below slide show to see the amazing food pictures). The food was simply delicious every one ate to their hearts content & more. Obviously there were beers, though this time, due to non availibility of Miller, we had ordered King Fisher Ultra, there was also a Rum, Thumbs Up, Ice & Chaat Masala Cocktail we call Boondi made, again lots of Sheesha was done & general chilling happened. Also through the day, Mihir & I played a bit of Guitar, currently our obsession is learning how to play the Blues.

Happiness on a Plate!!!

Overall, out of the 3 days where we had the house to ourselves, we made most of the 2 days & had¬†awesome food, alcohol & loads of fun!!! The food, courtesy Rachita, most¬†definitely¬†was the show stopper. Also occasions like this somehow just become so much more exciting as there is a time-line attached to having fun before the house gets occupied again. Hopefully in a week or 2 we will have the house to ourselves as¬†most of the family is travelling basis Diwali, fingers crossed ūüôā

Bikes, Beers & Barbecue

Bikes, Beers & Barbecue was the POA with Rachita, Ritika, Ekta, Vishal, Suneel, Anus & me for last evening! The whole thing came about on Saturday while we were celebrating Ritika’s birthday and, as always, the discussion revolved around food. The minute we figured that the in-laws were going to be out of town for the week, we had a POA ready. It was quickly decided that we were going to have a barbecue with loads of MEAT! This was the moment where Ritika & Rachita started planning the menu. Through Monday & Tuesday multiple visits to online sites were made, menu options were discussed & final list of food was decided.

Some of the Awesomeness!!!

On the menu….crazy stuff….right from ‚Äď

1)      Sheekh Kebabs

2)      Spicy Chorizo Ham

3)      Spicy Cumin Chicken Sausages

4)      Paneer, Potatoes & Corn

5)      Bacon

Cold cuts were bought on Tuesday by Rachita & the Sheekh Kebab¬† was being made by Ritika. Wednesday evening was looking awesome! Chicken would also be marinated on Wednesday morning. Tuesday started the day as always with a bike ride past Prabhadevi & Shivaji Park. Thankfully, there was no rains so life was sorted. Also went and tanked up the bike… Ran through the day at work really quickly in all the excitement of the evening …. ¬†also forgot to take tiffin to work. So, had to rush to the nearby mall to grab lunch, then left work, headed home quickly & got to peddar road by 6:30pm. Also carried a bottle of Southern Comfort for the evening, Vishal had ordered some Budweiser‚Äôs and Kingfisher Strongs as well, so now we were set for a crazy evening!

Sheekh Kebab Mix

Yummmmyyyyyy!!!

Southern Comfort & Beers kick-started the evening though the same was topped off with some super duper food. To start with, Rachita made some awesome spicy cumin chicken sausages with saut√©ed onions which was mouth wateringly spectacular!!! Then came in the veg stuff -corn, paneer & potato which was unreal. this was quickly followed by the chicken and the seekh kebabs which were divine. Post going through decent amounts of alco & food, there were, as always, multiple drunk discussions about people who like Ritika, etc. Bacon & spicy chorizo ham were brought on the table…..this is when the world came to a standstill & the food was totally devoured… Post this, and a couple more drinks, the discussion shifted to a discussion around the Nano – the mini Tata Car and it‚Äôs mileage – from there the discussion escalated into whether the car is safe and what the good points of the car are versus the bad. At this point, Ritika who is a Tata employee, on the bad points started severly outraging which was like weird but funny, ¬†(She is going to kill me for putting this). Finally, post everything, we had some awesome chocolate cupcakes made by Ritika, and then we ended the evening by 10:30pm. All in all, crazy amounts of fun, gossip, food, alcohol was had to make the evening totally unforgettable!!!

Chorizo Ham & Bacon!

You have to try this…

The Recipe for the Spicy Cumin Chicken Sausage –

All you need for this are some julliened onions, cumin, a packet of sausages – sliced, red chilli powder, corriander powder and salt, to taste.

Heat some oil in a pan and add in the cumin seeds, about 2 teaspoons. Once lightly browned,

add the onion and saute till translucent. Add in 2 teaspoons of red chilli powder (adjust to suit your tastebuds), half a teaspoon of corriander powder and salt to taste. Now’s when you add in the sliced sausages as well. Cook it for a few minutes, and then serve hot. Your Spicy Cumin Sausages are ready!

1 Litres = 2 Hours

Day before yesterday, and to get over the mundane Mondays, Vishal (Brother-In-Law) & I decide to order Alcohol ūüôā Things like this are always a good idea & help jump start the week in the right direction! Post contemplation, a bottle of Jack Daniels was ordered and basis the Mrs’s request we ordered a bottle of Cinzano, which our secret contact bootlegger claimed he had.

Sidhivinayak Temple

Next day morning, the day started off with the mandotory bike ride past Sidhivinayak Temple, Prabhadevi to Shivaji Park & back. The fun part was clearly the fact that the weather was awesome, wasn’t too sunny – a nice breeze was blowing and traffic was also negligable. Post getting back from the same, went to work. I had just about reached work when I was informed by Dad that the booze had arrived! Immediately plans were made to¬† meet at the adda (Our Gang Headquarters a.k.a Our House). Breezed through work in anticipation of the evening.

Awesome!!!

1 Litre = 2 Hours

Post reaching home, made relevant preps – got ice ready, glasses out, stared at the JD bottle for a while & also realized that instead of Cinzano we had got Martini Rosso. Laughed about the fact that our secret contact didn’t really understand Cinzano and somehow heard it as Martini Rosso & delivered the same; none the less, we decided to try the same. Mihir, Vishal & I poured in the first glass of JD & mixed the same with Thumbs -Up (Local Indian Cola far better than Coke or Pepsi as it packs a punch) post going down a few glasses, the conversation revolved around work, Y2K dating a data entry operator in office (Y2K is a manager in our office 35, not married, and runs behind anything in a skirt). Also we were¬†celebrating Ritika & Suneel’s 10 years of courting anniversary so there were drunk messages, calls & tweets which happened!

Somewhere through all this, we decided to go through the entire bottle of Jack Daniels. Please note, by now the thought processes, considering we were decently high, was that this would be an epic achivement!!! This is when things went out of whack and within a span of about 2 hours, we emptied the bottle of JD. Too much fun and excitment followed as in our minds this was a crazy achievement. Also, by then, we were decently hammered and going crazy laughing at everything and anything. Also, at some point there was dinner had; though, at 11:30 p.m., we realized we were ravenously hungry so ordered pizzas & dosas from Shiv Sagar and ate dinner no. 2. Finally, after all the craziness ended the day & passed out…
